Grignolino is an exciting grape variety from Piedmont which is not that easy to find. Olim Bauda’s grignolino is an obvious choice for the true wine enthusiast who wants to try something different!

Grignolino is a grape variety from the Piedmont which has, in the same way as the Dolcetto grape, been overlooked for the more reputated Barbera and Nebbiolo grapes. The cultivation of Grignolino is relatively complex and so is also the winemaking. On top of this, the vines don’t yield as much as other grape varieties and it is therefore understandable why Grignolino hasn’t yet achieved such a popularity. Grignolino has always existed in the Piedmont and this is where it has remained. In fact grignolino doesn’t exist anywhere else in the world, except sporadically in Napa and Santa Clara, USA. Anyway, Olim Bauda makes an exciting Grignolino d’Asti that those interested in wine and willing to try something new should try. The wine is relatively light and should be drunk chilled a few degrees.
