Château Taillefer – Pomerol is made from approximately 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet franc (slightly different each year). The harvest takes place in the end of September. The wine is grown over 12 hectares on the Pomerol plateau, 25 m above sea level in a terroir of silica and gravel on clay base, rich in iron deposits. The wine is produced according to the traditional method with a gentle fermentation at controlled temperature in thermoregulated concrete vessels. The wine is aged for 12 months with 40% new barrels of French oak.
