Presentation vineyard

The vineyard "Vinosia" is a relatively young project which started by the two brothers Mario and Luciano Ercolino. However, the two brothers Ercolino are not novice in what concerns wine making, since they are from the same family that started the well-known vineyard Feudi di San Gregorio in the Campania wine region. Mario was actually at that time responsible for the winemaking. In 2003, they starded the project "Vinosia" which means "A new source for wine." The vineyard is located in Luogosano, in the middle of Italy, between the Mediterranean Sea and the Adriatic coast at the same level as Napoli. Mario is responsible for the winemaking with the same commitment as within Feudi and produces southern Italian quality wines with a lot of personality.

Sommelier's advice

A dark deep red color. The nose has fruity hints of cherry jam, as well as sweet spices such as cinnamon and vanilla. The palate is round and concentrated with well-present and structured tannins. A long aftertaste. A powerful red wine to pair with tasty meat dishes such as a chicken liver stew.

Santandrea from Vinosia is made from 100% Aglianico grapes grown in volcanic soil and in limestone. The harvest is made during the first ten days of November. The grapes are macerated for 12 days, fermented and the malolactic fermentation is made in French oak barrels. The storage is also done for 12 months in French oak barrels.
