Gulfi’s Valcanzjria is a dry white wine made from Chardonnay-, Carricante- and Albanello grapes. The two latter varieties are typically Sicilian. Carricante is mainly grown along the eastern part of the island, in the area of the Etna volcano. Albanello on the other hand, has almost disappeared and luckily there are driving forces such as Catani to preserve the local tradition and local grapes. Chardonnay is widely known and contributes to the aromatic and fullbodied elements in the wine, while the 2 other grape varieties account for the acid and the complexity of the wine. The wine is aged at least 8 months in steel tanks.
