Presentation vineyard

<p>Maggiovini is a family winery created more than 50 years ago in Vittoria, located in the southeastern part of Sicily. Today it's Massimo and Barbara, the 3rd generation Maggio's who manage the vineyard that includes 50 hectares of land, of which 35 hectares of vineyard. The vineyards are cultivated organically, and the vinification methods mix tradition with new production methods and new tools. The soil has a typical, red and sandy character with a calcareous ground that guarantees the much needed amount of water for the vines to grow and feel good. Cerasuolo di Vittoria, the island's only DOCG wine, is the most exclusive wine, but other typically Sicilian and genuine wines are also produced such as Nero d'Avola, Frappato, Grillo, Catarratto and Insolia.</p>

Sommelier's advice

A golden yellow color with brilliant hues. The nose is discret but elegant and fruity. A fruity palate with hints of white fruits, honey but with nice pleasant acidities. A pleasant bitterness that appears in a long aftertaste. A wonderful white wine to serve as an aperitif or for grilled gambas and grilled fish skewers.

Vigna di Pettineo from Maggiovini is made from 100% organically grown Grillo grapes from the vineyards around the town of Vittoria. The grapes are harvested and sorted by hand. Only the best grapes are selected, which are then let to macerate for 24 hours with the skin. Fermentation at low temperature in a steel tank that ends up in French oak barrels.
