Amongae from Maggiovini is an oak-aged red wine made from Cabernet Sauvignon, Nero d’Avola and Merlot. “A Sicilian Bordeaux” with hints of red berries, vanilla and lightly sweet. To serve to grilled red meat or to a stew.

Amongae comes from Greek and means “chalice assigned to the foundations of truth”. The wine is made from 60% of Nero d’avola and the typical Bordeaux grapes Cabernet Sauvignon (25%) and Merlot (15%). The vinification takes place separately, grape variety per grape variety. The organically grown grapes are harvested by hand on the Iblean hills. The grapes are macerated for 15 days before they are fermented at controlled temperature. The wines are then stored on French oak barrels for 8 months before they are assembled to the finished blend. Then the wine is stored for another 6 months on oak barrels. The finalized wine is bottled and then stored for another 9-12 months.
