Morgon Les Charmes from P. Girard is produced according to the traditional Beaujolais method with the Gamay grape, where the aim is to preserve the fruitiness of the wine while at the same time giving it structure and shelf life. The grapes are harvested in the Les Charmes climate in Morgon, where the soil consists of slate and granite which gives minerality and concentration. After a few days of maceration, the grapes are pressed and the wine continues to ferment traditionally in tanks. The wine is then aged in steel tanks.
