Presentation vineyard

Domaine de l'Herbe Sainte is located between Mirepeïsset and Sallèles-d'Aude, just north of the town of Narbonne in the Minervois Appellation. Herbe Sainte means "sacred herbs" which refers to the spice herbs that grow in the vineyard's surroundings and which have previously been used as medicine and which probably contribute to the "terroir specifities" of the wines. The vineyard is owned by the Greuzard family, originally from Burgundy, but who came to the Languedoc region in 1980. Land has gradually been purchased and today Domaine de l'Herbe Sainte represents 60 hectares of farmland.

Sommelier's advice

A clear golden-green color, with golden hues. The nose is fruity and intense with aromas of flowers and generous hints of pineapple, other exotic fruits and peach. The palate has fresh acidities with floral notes. Intense aromas of apricot and peach, somewhat mineral and fresh. Good structure with good intensity and length. A white wine to serve as an aperitif, to pair with a grilled fish or with various chicken dishes, preferably in a creamy sauce.

Viognier from Domaine de l’Herbe Sainte is a white wine made exclusively from Viognier grapes. The grapes are removed from the bunches immediately after the harvest and pressed. The grape must then ferment at controlled temperature. The storage takes place in cement tanks. The wine is lightly clarified and filtered before being bottled.
