Presentation vineyard

At the beginning of the 1980s, Pierangelo Careglio, who was not satisfied with his work in the factory, decided to help his father Matteo to manage the family's agricultural land which at that time represented only 2 small vineyards and otherwise consisted of fruit crops. Production specialized in wine and, with the support of a winemaker friend, Pierangelo decided to devote himself to winemaking and to adapt a small part of the agricultural building into a cellar and equip it with the necessary equipment. Pierangelo started the production of bottled wine, releasing the first labels of "Roero Doc" and "Arneis" signed Careglio. Meanwhile, his son Andrea graduated as a wine technician at the famous Alba wine school and contributed fully to the family business. Since 2017, investments in a new structure that makes it possible to support larger production has been made.

Sommelier's advice

A very intense ruby red color with rich tones and violet hues. The nose is fruity and reminiscent of plums, morello cherries and blueberries. The palate is moderately soft, full-bodied, but with clear acidity that balances with freshness. Bold and spicy finale with an aftertaste reminiscent of plums and cherries. To pair with tasty dishes, preferably with roasts, stews and medium-aged cheeses.

Careglio – Barbera d’Alba – Red wine made from 100% Barbera grapes. The harvest is done manually at the end of September. The vinification is traditional with medium maceration. Regular stirring (remontage). The wine is stored for 3 months in steel tanks before being bottled.
