Presentation of the vineyard

Maggiovini is a family winery created more than 50 years ago in Vittoria, located in the southeastern part of Sicily. Today it's Massimo and Barbara, the 3rd generation Maggio's who manage the vineyard that includes 50 hectares of land, of which 35 hectares of vineyard. The vineyards are cultivated organically, and the vinification methods mix tradition with new production methods and new tools. The soil has a typical, red and sandy character with a calcareous ground that guarantees the much needed amount of water for the vines to grow and feel good. Cerasuolo di Vittoria, the island's only DOCG wine, is the most exclusive wine, but other typically Sicilian and genuine wines are also produced such as Nero d'Avola, Frappato, Grillo, Catarratto and Insolia.

Sommelier's advice

A cherry red color. A fruity, soft and dry scent with cherry flavors. The taste is also fruity, light and well balanced. A red wine to serve lightly chilled to fish dishes or, a few degrees hotter, to veal or chicken fillet.
