Fontaine du Clos - Aura - White

"Aura" is made from Chardonnay, Viognier and Macabeu grape grapes. The harvest is done in the middle of September, early in the morning to keep the berries fresh. The fermentation takes place at low temperature, then the wine is stored in oak barrels on its lees with regular stirring (batonnage) to get its roundness and its characteristics.

Presentation of the vineyard

Fontaine du Clos is located in Sarrians, just a bit north of Avignon. Jean-François Barnier, who along with his wife Cécile created the vineyard, is both gardener and winegrower, which has its advantages when working with live vines. Not less than 52 different grape varieties are grown here to primarily produce Vacqueras. However, Côtes-du-Rhône wines are also produced as well as a whole range of very good IGP wines.

Sommelier's advice

A light yellow, slightly golden color. The nose is aromatic and complex with hints of candied fruit and citrus, sweet spices and lemon peel. The palate is elegant and fresh, but round with great generosity and fine length. To pair with fried scallops or with semi-stored cheeses.
