Château de Nages - Liberty Nages - Red

"Liberty Nages" from Château de Nages is made from Syrah, Grenache, Carignan and Merlot grown organically. The harvest is done manually and the grapes are separated from their clusters (éraflage) with immediate thinning of the grapes. They are then put entire into steeltanks without adding sulphites. The grapes are then cool macerated to extract the most possible of aromas and colour. The wine ferments naturally at 25 ° temperature. The wine is then bottled after a light filtration.

Presentation of the vineyard

"We do not inherit our land, but to borrow it from our children. We are just a link in the chain and continue our forefathers' work. Solidarity, trust, mutual support and love to the family provides the confidence needed for the most ambitious projects". So says the family Gassier's proverb which also explains in one sentence the nature and simplicity of the wines from Château de Nages. Château de Nages is a family winery where Michel Gassier is the 4th generation. Château de Nages is located in the southern Rhône Valley in the Costières de Nîmes appellation which stretches all the way down to Camargue. The wines are organically grown.

Sommelier's advice

An intense bright violet / red color. The aroma is fruity, mainly of black currants and cherries. The palate is soft and silky with elements of mature fruit, followed by a fresh and refreshing final. A red wine to serve to a grilled chicken, a dried pot, to an omelette or to cured meats!
