Chateau Haut Selve blanc 2015 - White

The white Chateau Haut Selve is made from 60% Sauvignon Blanc, 10% Sauvignon gris and 30% Sémillon grapes. The grapes are harvested by hand and then coolmacerated for 12 to 18 hours. The grape juice is the coolclarified (débourbage) before the fermentation process begins. The finished wine is aged for six months in oak barrels, only half in new barrels, to obtain a round and smooth taste.

Presentation of the vineyard

Chateau Haut Selve is located in an extra-ordinary part of Graves which makes it comparable to the great "Grands Crus". Haut Selve is the only castle of Bordeaux which has been created during the 1900s and it has quickly created itself a reputation. Today Chateau Haut Selve is considered as one of the Top 5 castles in the Graves appelationen. In 2012 the winery won the contest of "Trophée des Graves". Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon are cultivated for the red wines and Sauvignon Blanc, Sémillon and Sauvignon gris are cultivated for the white wines.

Sommelier's advice

Light yellow color with bright and brilliant hues. Elegant and fruity aromas of citrus, mainly grapefruit and lemon with hints of white fruits. The palate has good harmony between acidity and fruit. The citrus aromas are complemented by notes of exotic fruit, especially mango. The flavors from the oak barrel storage is discrete and well integrated. To be drunk now and 2 years forward for an aperitif or together with a piece of grilled fish.
