Presentation vineyard

The Ruinart brand originates from the Benedictine monk Dom Thierry Ruinart (1657-1709), who consider the sparkling wine as the wine of the future. But it was only 29 years after his death that his nephew Nicolas Ruinart creates the Champagne House Ruinart which then became the first Champagne house ever.

Sommelier's advice

A brilliant bright yellow color with golden hues. A beautiful glossy and intense foam with very present foam string. The nose is delicate and fruity - mainly of white fruit (pear, apple) but also of apricot and nuts (hazelnuts, almonds). Some floral tones in a complex blend of aromas of pastries and buttery brioche. A well-balanced palate, round and spontaneous mouth feel. Fruity and fleshy, hints of ripe fruit (green plums and nectarines). Long final with great freshness. To serve as an aperitif, but also to pair with poached oysters, grilled scallops or a boiled sole. Even with milder short-stored cheeses.

“R” from Ruinart is made from 40% Chardonnay, 49% Pinot noir and 11% Pinot meunier. 20-25% of the wine consists of reserve wine (vin de réserve) from 2 previous vintages. The harvest is done manually and the grapes are fermented in steel tank at thermoregulated temperature. Then follows the malolactic fermentation. The sugar dosage is 9g / liter.
