Château Fourcas-Borie – Listrac-Médoc – Red wine is made from 90% Merlot and 10% Petit Verdot. The soils consist mainly of gravel and clay,which suits Merlot very well. After the harvest, the grapes ferment in temperature-controlled steel tanks for 2-3 weeks. Malolactic fermentation follows and then the wine is aged for 12 months in French oak barrels. A limited proportion of new barrels are used (usually about 25-30%).
