Vinosia - Ariella - Greco di Tufo - White

Ariella from Vinosia is made from 100% Greco di Tufo grapes grown in a very calcium carbonate-rich soil, created over the millennia's by the dissolution of sandstone, in the municipality of Montefusco. The harvest is done in the second part of October. The grapes are soft-pressed in entire clusters. The juice is cleared through cold static clarification. The fermentation is partly done with natural yeast. The malolactic fermentation isn't performed entirely.

Presentation of the vineyard

The vineyard "Vinosia" is a relatively young project which started by the two brothers Mario and Luciano Ercolino. However, the two brothers Ercolino are not novice in what concerns wine making, since they are from the same family that started the well-known vineyard Feudi di San Gregorio in the Campania wine region. Mario was actually at that time responsible for the winemaking. In 2003, they starded the project "Vinosia" which means "A new source for wine." The vineyard is located in Luogosano, in the middle of Italy, between the Mediterranean Sea and the Adriatic coast at the same level as Napoli. Mario is responsible for the winemaking with the same commitment as within Feudi and produces southern Italian quality wines with a lot of personality.

Sommelier's advice

A light straw yellow, color. The nose is aromatic and has hints of white fruits, citrus and white flowers. The palate is mineral with hints of grapefruit and citrus fruits in general. A fresh white wine to pair with a grilled fish, pasta with seafood, a risotto or lightly done cheeses.
