Presentation of the vineyard

Rosa del Golfo is a family vineyard of Salento which has existed for 200 years. The Calò family, who originally began producing wine and olives is still the owner of the winery. The name of the property comes from a rosé wine of the same name, which was first produced in 1963. The name was retained and was utilized also for other wines with more local relevance, such as Negroamaro and Primitivo. Only in 1988, the whole Calò winery switched name to Rosa del Golfo. Negroamaro and Malvasia grapes are the main varieties, using the typical south Italian albarello technique when cultivating the vines.

Sommelier's advice

A ruby red color with violet tints. A fruity aroma with hints of red berries. A light and elegant palate with good balance between fruit and acidity. Hints of red berries with a certain length in the final. Goes well with mushroom dishes of various kinds, red meat or cheese tray.
