Presentation of the vineyard

In 1845, the Benedictine monks from Muri in Switzerland moved to Gries in South Tyrol, where the order took over the Augustinian monastery. In this way, they inherited a long tradition of viticulture which they undertook and became an entire part of the work with the monastery, the vineyard and the property itself. The result of the 2000s has been a series of quality wines from Muri-Gries, as the Abtei Muri line, which has been produced since 1989, from selected grapes from the very best areas.

Sommelier's advice

A pale straw-yellow color with light green hues. The nose is intense with typical notes of nutmeg, as well as pepper, elderberry and acacia. The palate combines a fine elegance with youthful freshness and a pleasant acidity. Some saltiness and minerality, light but at the same time with a long finale.
To serve well chilled as an aperitif with snacks, or with seafood and various fish dishes.
