Presentation of the vineyard
Domaine de Perréou is located in Cazeneuve in Gers, the southwest of France. This region is among sport fans around Europe known for its successful rugby teams. But this is also the region which has become famous for its traditional dishes made from duck meat. The whole world has with surprise learnt that this diet is exactly what has contributed to the region's average high living ages. Queen Mary University in London has even proven that also the wine from this region reduces the risk of cardiovascular disease. At Domaine de Perréou it is today Jean-Pierre Montelieu who manufactures the wine. Several of the region's local grape varieties are cultivated, but it is mainly white and very charming quality wines that are produced here and mainly from Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Gros Manseng, Colombard and Ugni Blanc grapes.
Very light yellow color with golden-green tints. Elegant and subtle aromas of boxwood with spicy hints of green pepper. Soft, fruity and generous flavor with notes of ripe grapefruit and vegetable tones. Good balance and a lot of "finesse". To drink as an aperitif, to accompany a Caesar salad, most sorts of fish dishes and fried gambas shrimps.
