Domaines Bunan - Château la Rouvière - Bandol - Red
Bandol from Château la Rouvière is made from 90% Mourvèdre and 10% Syrah. The grapes are grown in organically cultivated terraces on the slopes of Castellet in the south direction. The grapes are removed from their bunches after harvesting and the following fermentation is conducted for 21 days in large oak barrels. Presentation of the vineyard
The Domaines Bunan is a family history that goes back three generations. In 1961, Paul and Pierre Bunan started the winemaking in the Bandol appellation. Pierre managed the direct sales to restaurants in the region and Pierre was in charge of the winemaking. Today, Bunan has grown into a small conglomerate of several wineries, but still of limited size where the responsibilities remain allocated within the family. The original Moulin des Costes in La Cadières d'Azur and Château la Rouvière in Castellet are both part of the Bandol appellation. Moreover, there is Bélouve from the Côtes-de-Provence appellation, as well as the more accessible IGP wines, Vin de Pierre. The Domaines Bunans wines are organically grown.
A deep, ruby ??red color with purple hues. The nose is intense with spicy hints of truffles and "woody" undergrowth. The palate is well-structured and powerful with good concentration. Mainly berry hints of blackberries and black currants, but also of licorice and pepper. Soft and well structured tannins. An elegant wine to serve with game, lamb dishes or a cheese board.
