Presentation of the vineyard

Domaine des Masques is located a few kilometers from Aix-en-Provence in a unique natural environment, 550 meters above the sea level, at the foot of the Sainte Victoire mountain. It was here, that Paul Cezanne, in his time, painted many of his most famous paintings. Before 1993 there were only scrubland here and in just 20 years, the domain has evolved into what it is today. The philosophy of the winemaking is to mix tradition with innovation in a unique manner. The objective is to make wines with personality and of excellent quality. The wine production is conducted in collaboration with Yves Cuilleron, also known from the Rhône Valley and his Condrieu, Cornas and Côte-Rôtie wines. No chemical pesticides are used in the agriculture and the working methods and tools are of the latest technology.

Sommelier's advice

Purplered color with violet hues. Fruity aromas of ripe blackberry and black currant with spicy hints of licorice, pepper and bay leaf. A rich, full-bodied and fruity taste with a slight hint of vanilla and coffee. A typical Syrah wine, at a good price in comparison to similar wine of Côte-Rotie. To be drunk slightly chilled to 14-15 ° and served to most meat dishes, preferably with a good sauce.
