Domaine Jérôme Godon Sancerre "Tradition" 2014

Sancerre "Tradition" is a crisp white wine made from 100% Sauvignon grapes. The grapes are grown on 10 hectares of land situated along the Loire River in a south-westerly direction. The soil is a mixture of limestone and flint. It's the flint in the soil that contributes to the mineral notes in the wine.

Presentation of the vineyard

Jérôme Godon belongs to the younger generation of winemakers who wanted to develop and improve the family winemaking. The family Godon has cultivated wine in the Sancerre wine district more or less since ever, but it is only when Jerome took over that the quality and innovation has become an obsession. With an effortless approach to things and a good dose of professionalism  Jérôme produces both red and white Sancerre wines with great elegance.

Sommelier's advice

A bright yellow color with tints of white gold. Nose of citrus fruit that evolves into aromas of lychee and grapefruit. A direct and full-bodied palate with mineral notes and a for the sauvignon grape so typical hint of boxwood. A long and well-balanced finnish. To serve at 10-12 ° temperature with seafood and various fish dishes.
