Domaine Jérôme Godon Sancerre "Elegance" 2015 - Red

Jérôme Godon's red Sancerre is made from 100% Pinot Noir grapes. The harvest is done by hand and the winemaking is almost a craft since only a small part of total production consists of red wine. The wine is unlike the Burgundian Pinot noir wines not stored in oak barrels which gives a fruity flavor with finesse. This 2012 is according to Jerome himself the best vintage ever.

Presentation of the vineyard

Jérôme Godon belongs to the younger generation of winemakers who wanted to develop and improve the family winemaking. The family Godon has cultivated wine in the Sancerre wine district more or less since ever, but it is only when Jerome took over that the quality and innovation has become an obsession. With an effortless approach to things and a good dose of professionalism  Jérôme produces both red and white Sancerre wines with great elegance.

Sommelier's advice

A beautiful raspberry red color. Complex nose with subtle aromas of red fruits dominated with hints of raspberry. A light, juicy and fruity taste, with nice balance between acidity and fruit. A light wine with a lot of elegance. Ideal at 16 ° and served to various fish dishes with sauce, chicken dishes or game meat with a creamy sauce.
