Presentation of the vineyard

Domaine Gaujal has belonged to the Gaujal family since 1744. Today, it is Laurent Gaujal who has taken over from his father Ludovic since 2013. The vineyard is located close to Etang de Thau, a saltwater pond near the Mediterranean where oysters are cultivated. The vineyard includes 30 hectares of land, of which 12 hectares is Picpoul. Other grapes such as Merlot are also grown. The soil is calcareous with a large proportion of limestone, which gives a very special minerality to the Picpoul wines.

Sommelier's advice

Light yellow color with green hues. The nose is intense mesd hints of white flowers and citrus. The palate is round and full with a certain density - good length. Great finesse and balance. The oak storage provides power and roundness. A lovely white wine to serve to the aperitif, to pair with a fish gratin or with a grilled chicken.
