Beauvignac - Picpoul de Pinet

Picpoul is produced by 100% white picpoul grapes. The grapes are grown on the "garrigue" south French scrubland near the Langedoc coast at the Etang de Thau. The grapes are harvested at night to avoid oxidation. The grapes are then pressed and the must macerates for 48H before the fermentation starts under controlled temperature (15 °).

Presentation of the vineyard

La Cave de Pomerols is not to be confused with Pomerol in Bordeaux. The winery is a wine cooperative with 350 affiliated vintners. White wines represent the major part(57%). 22% of the production is red followed by the rosé which represents 21% of the production. Les Caves de Pomerols is today a modern wine cooperative that produces excellent and affordable wines.

Sommelier's advice

Light straw yellow color with golden hues. Fruity aromas of mainly citrus fruit and especially grapefruit. A fresh palate with good balance, typical for good Picpouls. To drink together with oysters or other shellfish. Goes well with a fish soup or a grilled fillet of monkfish
