Grandes serres - Gigondas - La Combe des Marchands - red

La Combe des Marchands from the Grandes serres is a Gigondas produced from Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre and Cinsault. "Combe" means crossroads on Occitan and refers to the merchants who met in the past in Gigondas at the foot of Dentelles de Monmirail. The grapes are removed from their bunches after harvest and are fermented in temperature controlled concrete tanks with natural yeast. Long maceration with daily stirring (remontage). The finished wine is stored for 18 months, of which 20% on oak barrels.

Sommelier's advice

A beautiful cherry red color with violet hueses. The nose is complex, mainly hints of cherry, black berries and spices. The palate is directly fresh and lively with elements of mature black berries. The tannins are soft and generous. To serve at 16-18 ° the next 8 years. Perfect with meat pots of various kinds or grilled red meat, preferably honey-marinated duck fillets.
