Grandes serres - Beaumes de Venise - Rocca Luna - Red

Rocca Luna from Grandes Serres is a red Beaumes-de-Venise produced from Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre. The grapes are removed from their bunches after the harvest and are fermented in temperature controlled steel tanks. The wine is drained from the bottom of the tanks and poured on top of the "wine cake" (délestage) 1 to 3 times at the beginning of the fermentation. Long maceration with daily mixing (remontage). The finalized wine is stored for 18 months, of which 30% on oak barrels.

Grandes Serres is a winery and negoce business as well. The wine house was created by Camille Serres in 1977 and was taken over by Michel Picard in 2001. A wine house that has a large selection of meridional Rhône wines which often place themselves very well in local French wine guides.

Sommelier's advice

A beautiful purple red color with violet hues. The nose is intense and complex with hints of fresh red berries and violet. The palate is soft and juicy with fine tannins. To serve at 16-18 ° the coming 8 years. Perfect for meat pots and preferably with sweet touches such as a pork loin with prunes.
