Delas - Hermitage - Domaine des Tourettes - Red
Delas' red Hermitage -Domaine des Tourettes - is made from 100% Syrah grapes harvested manually, terroir by terroir at optimum maturity. Vinification is done according to traditional method in open concrete tanks after two days of cool maceration. The fermentation is then started at controlled temperature between 28 and 30 ° C. Depression of the superficial "hat" (Pigeages) and pumping of the must on the hat (remontage) is done daily for ten days. The total duration of the vinification can reach 20 days. After press, the malolactic fermentation is carried out in oak barrels. The wine is stored in oak barrels. The toasted character is the result of a precise dosing between wine stored in new and old barrels. This dosage is adjusted to each vintage depending on the nature of the vintage wine.

Presentation of the vineyard
Delas Frères belongs to the prestigious wine houses of the Rhone Valley. In 1835, Charles Audibert and Philippe Delas purchased a wine merchant named Maison Junique in Tournon-sur-Rhône, which was renamed Audibert and Delas. The links between the two families will be sharpened when the two Delas sons, Henri and Florentin marry Audibert's daughters. In 1924, Henri and Florentin took over the winery and the company's name became today's Delas Frères. In 1977, Delas Frères was acquired by the Champagne House Maison de Champagne Deutz, but the Delas Frères retains its operational and commercial independence.
However, it's only in 1993 that the wine house gets its current structure when the Rouzeaud family, majority owner of the Champagne House Roederer, buys Deutz and Delas. Investments in both manufacturing and new land have since contributed to creating Delas Frères' current reputation throughout the world.
A dark red shiny and deep color. The nose of the Hermitage "Domaine des Tourettes" expresses itself with power and complexity in a register of black berries, spices and leather. The palate is precise but silky with a dense structure of tannins which is characteristic of long storage wines.
