Presentation of the vineyard
The story of Besserat the Bellefon starts back in 1843 when the winery was created by Edmond Besserat in Aÿ. But it's only in 1920 when another Edmond marries Yvonne de Méric de Bellefon that the champagne house is given its current name, Besserat the Bellefon. Besserat the Bellefon is mainly known for having produced an innovative, light-sparkling and creamy champagne for the Parisian and exclusive restaurant "Samaritaine de Luxe"in the 30's,.
A lively yellow color with great clarity. The foam is formed by small, light bubbles that create a discrete string in the glass. The nose is intense, with hints of fresh citrus mixed with floral notes (honeysuckle, acacia) and freshly baked bread. The palate is structured with nice roundness. A minerality generally found in great Chardonnay's blends superbly with tones of dried fruit (apricot) and honey in the back palate that together create a mosaic of minerality and sophistication. The final is fresh, long and light. To serve as an aperitif or with a buffet dinner.
