Presentation of the vineyard
Domaine René Bouvier is a family winery since 3 generations back, based in Gevrey-Chambertin and is today directed by Bernard Bouvier. The vineyard's name comes from Bernard's father, René, who took over in 1950 from his father Henri Bouvier who created the vineyard in 1910. Today, the winery includes production from eight different villages, over 18 different appellations in Côtes-de-Nuits covering 17 hectares of land. Domaine René Bouvier is on many star restaurants in France, getting regular praise in French guides. Half of the production goes to export.
An intense ruby ??red color. The nose has typical elegant Burgundian hints of raspberries. The palate is full-bodied and soft, but with tannins that show their existence. Primarily fruity taste, very little sign of oak storage. The final is slightly spicy with some minerality. Long aftertaste. A wine to pair with red meat in sauce or with game. Can also be served with a monkfish or a cod fillet.
