Presentation of the vineyard
Domaine Germain pere & fils is a family winery located in Saint-Romain. It all began in 1955 with Bernard Germain. At that time most of the vineyards were only in Saint Romain, but Bernard bought land in both Pommard and Beaune and in the Hautes côtes de Beaune area. All in all, 6 hectares of farmland were included. In 1976, Bernard's son Patrick came to his help and since 2009, Arnaud, Bernard's grandson, is also part of the winery. Arnaud has developed the sales and been the driving force behind the Maison Arnaud Germain, which expanded the range to Meursault, Volnay, Chambolle-Musigny and Puligny-Montrachet, which are now part of the portfolio of appellations.
Pale golden yellow color with green hues. The nose has hints of linden and white flowers as well as some minerality. The palate is fresh, also with some minerality that will soften over time. A very welldone Burgundy to serve as an aperitif, or to pair with seafood , to omelettes and poached eggs. Also very good for soft cheeses like Camembert, whose creamy consistency will be balanced by this beautiful mineral acidity. To a chicken stew after a couple of years of storage.
