Presentation of the vineyard
Domaine Germain pere & fils is a family winery located in Saint-Romain. It all began in 1955 with Bernard Germain. At that time most of the vineyards were only in Saint Romain, but Bernard bought land in both Pommard and Beaune and in the Hautes côtes de Beaune area. All in all, 6 hectares of farmland were included. In 1976, Bernard's son Patrick came to his help and since 2009, Arnaud, Bernard's grandson, is also part of the winery. Arnaud has developed the sales and been the driving force behind the Maison Arnaud Germain, which expanded the range to Meursault, Volnay, Chambolle-Musigny and Puligny-Montrachet, which are now part of the portfolio of appellations.
A ruby red color with good intensity reminding of black cherries. The nose has hints of red berries (currants, raspberries and cherries) which, with age, will develop into aromas of fruit, spices and some smoky hints with fine and elegant tannins. To pair with poultry in a creamy sauce. A calf steak or stew or to a cheese tray with soft and creamy varieties.
