Chateau Loumelat Bordeaux 2016 - Red
Chateau Loumelat is produced from 85% Merlot- and 15% Cabernet Sauvignon grapes. The grapes are macerated for 17 days after the harvest and is stirred every other day (batonnage). The fermentation takes place in thermo-regulated stainless steel tanks at 28 ° temperature. The finished wine is aged for 16 months in steel tanks.

Presentation of the vineyard
Chateau Loumelat is located in the Côtes-de-Blaye district. A delightful area with a sandy soil, rich in clay and limestone, that give a special character to the wines. The vineyard of 49 hectares of land belongs to the Mariochod family since 1778. Nevertheless, it's Vignoble Lesgourges, with their technical wine producing knowledge, that is responsible for the wine production. Today, mainly Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon is grown, but a portion of the land is also used for the cultivating Sauvignon for the production of white wines.
A strong ruby red color. Intense aroma of red berries, especially raspberries and cherries, but also with hints of spices and undergrowth. The palate is soft and well balanced with elegant and rounded tannins. Very fruity and good length in the final.
