Presentation of the vineyard
Chateau Fourcas Hosten is located in the village of Listrac-Medoc, nestled in a beautiful park of 3 hectares. In 1810, Mr. Hosten sold the vineyard to the St. Affrique family who created the chateau Fourcas Hosten with its current name. The wine castle then got very quickly an international reputation. Much later, in the middle of the harvest in 2006, the two brothers Renaud and Laurent Mommeja bought the winery with the ambition to resurrect this beautiful 200-year-old property. "We were really in love with this property and its great wines and that is why we wanted, together with Chateau Fourcas Hosten, write a new page in our family's history". A major renovation project was started immediately and a new wine cellar has been built and the vineyard has been completely restructured since then.
A ruby red color with carmine red hues. Chateau Fourcas Hosten 2016 has complex aromas of black berries(blackcurrant), pepper and elderberry. The palate is round and soft with silky and elegant tannins. A wine with good volume, power and structure to be enjoyed with a tournedos Rossini in a few years.
