Château Bardins - Pessac Léognan - Red
The red Pessac-Léognan from Château Bardins is made from 50% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon and 25% Cabernet Franc. The grapes are grown in a typical "Graves-stony" field with a calcareous ground, over 8.25 hectares of land. The grapes are harvested by hand and fermented for 3-5 weeks at controlled temperature. The wine has been stored for one year on oak barrels, of which 1/4 part in new barrels.

Presentation of the vineyard
Pessac-Léognan. The castle belongs to the Bernardy de Sigoyer family since 1903. Today it's Mrs. Stella Puel, who represents the 4th generation and who with great dedication is responsible for the wine growing as well as the wine production. Château Bardins is ISO 14001 certified as part of the 1st Association of SMEs (Système de Management Environementale) of Bordeaux wines. The intention is to minimize the impact on the ecosystem, ie on the air, the soil and the creatures, as well as being able to demonstrate the efficiency. The vineyard is run entirely without pesticides and only copper, sulfur and infusions are used to protect the plants. The wine fermentation is made with natural yeast from the grapes.
A beautiful dark red color with shiny hues. A nose of mature red and black berries, some floral hints with a certain presence of oakstorage. A rich and concentrated palate, with the presence of well-structured tannins that does not damage the balance and the presence of fruit. A typical Pessac Léognan to pair with various dishes based on red meat or wild game.
