Chateau de la Terrière - Moulin à Vent - Cuvée de la Lure 2012 - Red
Cuvée de Lure is a Moulin-à-Vent made of 100% gamaygrapes. The grapes are harvested in baskets, making it easy to quickly sort out the grapes which do not keep perfect quality. The grapes are picked from the bunches, like in Burgundy, before a very slow fermentation begins. The fermentation is slow in order to thereby extract the maximum of color and tannins. The finished wine is aged for 9 months, half in large wooden barrels (foudres) and half in oak barrels.

Presentation of the vineyard
Chateau de la Terrière lies is located in Cercié, in the heart of Beaujolais. The castle was built here in the 1500s and since 2003, it's the Barbet family who owns the castle and runs the winery. The family Barbet has managed to improve the quality considerably since the acquisition through the modernization of the production technology, but also by reverting back to the old agricultural traditions. The grapes are sorted immediately after the harvest and the old steel tanks have been replaced in the wine cellar. In a short time, Chateau de la Terrière has become a reference in Beaujolais.
A complex and robust wine with complex aromas of berries (black currant and raspberry) as well as licorice. A fruity taste, with nice volume and good length. Well present tannins. A real storage wine that will be further softened with age. To be drunk to dishes of wild game or beef.
